Lake of the Mountain Spirits
Buguzun is a mountain pass on the border of the Altai Republic and Tyva in the southern part of the Chikhachev Range.
The pass is named after the river that starts nearby. Buguzun - lit. ‘mighty, huge river’.
The road through the Buguzun Pass connects the Kosh-Agach district of the Altai Republic and Mongun-Taiginsky kozhun of the Tyva Republic. To date, the pass and the road have no hard surface and are practically not maintained by road services.
Kurai steppe.
It is located in the valley of the Chuya River, between the Kurai Range (in the northern part of the steppe) and the North Chuya Mountain Range (in the south).
Katu-Yaryk is a famous Altai pass to the marvellous Chulyshman valley! Breathtaking views open from the observation point of the pass! It is impossible not to fall in love with it!


Lake Mogen-Buren
The Mountain Spirits Lake (Deny-Der) is located in the Ust-Koksinsky district of the Altai Republic near Mount Belukha. It is the second lake with this name.
The Mountain Spirits Lake near Akkem is an amazing place that is definitely worth a visit, as it centres the crystal clear soul of the ancient Altai!
The Aktash repeater in the Altai Mountains is a radio relay tower URS 08609, which provides communications in the Altai Republic.
The height of the repeater is 3038 metres above sea level.

The mountain offers a 360° panorama of the surrounding area: you can see the spacious Chuya valley and the North Chuya Range rising behind it, the peaks of which are covered with snow all year round.
On the other sides are the peaks of the Kurai Range, and behind one of the spurs is the Mountain Spirits Lake.

Kurkure means ‘furious’ in Altaic. This word characterises the flow of the river and the waterfall.
It is located in the eastern part of the Altai Republic, in Ulagan district.
The total height of the water fall is 30 metres. The greatest height of free water fall is about 15 metres.
The Ukok Plateau is located in the south-east of the Altai Republic, at an altitude of 2000-2600 metres. It is surrounded by the snowy peaks of the South Chuisky Range in the north and the South Altai, Tabyn-Bogdo-Ola and Sailugem ranges.
Most of the plateau has a special status and is called the Ukok Rest Area Nature Park, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site established in 2005.

Ulagan Pass.
It is located on the 26th km of Ulagan tract on Ulagan plateau, on the territory of Ulagan district of the Altai Republic.
Its height is 2080 metres. It is one of the highest automobile passes in Altai. The ascent and descent are long.
A viewing platform at the repeater, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the North Chui Ridge and the Kurai Steppe.
